i do not own the characters. this is a roleplay blog dedicated to fleshing out characters and exploring worlds as a hobby. the characters belong to nintendo in their origin.
however, i do own any headcanons, analysis of games & associated media. i pull my interpretations from all official sources - mostly games, 'word of god', hyrule historia & other official documents issued by nintendo.

i have work and life outside of tumblr & this is not my only blog. i have a list of accounts that are active / semi-active. i try to post if i have an expected hiatus, or a significant decrease of activity, on at least one blog.i only write with those who are 21+.

not really born, but CREATED by the hands of the goddess hylia, a trial in smithing a weapon to smite evil with a guide spirit cursed blessed with the sacred offices of protecting and leading her hero into unknown territory.originally planned to be a spirit with the same curiosity of her hero, ghirahim easily followed her orders, striving to assist in her light, until she made the decision that would tear the future of his own path.hylia found that the curiosity and humanity of him was almost the wrong idea. in the wrong hands, he could turn the hero against her if they looked too closely at the absent morals of gods - for how could mortals understand the plights of gods tasked with order?and with the god of chaos nipping at her heels, vying for the golden warmth the gods could not use in the triforce, hylia tipped his blade over to demise. thin metal fit for human hands distorted, fitting demise's unstable and thorny nature. it still GLEAMED brilliant silver and blue in his hands - ghirahim still unblemished by the curse of war, steel yet to be steeped in victims' blood.and with hylia's hand, arming demise with a god-slayer, ghirahim felt his steady heart trip, tumbling down. the king of demons could see a pawn within him yet, a tool to mold and BREAK.and so demise promised him power, a chalice of liquid hatred - a forbidden wine sickly sweet on his tongue. malice forever changes him, aching into his bones and starting the erosion of morals he once upheld.
war broke out between the mortal realm and the demons as demise attempted to lay claim to the surface, burning its villages and other settlements - destroying what hylia cared for. ghirahim fought both at demise's side and as his sword during battles, new power coursing through his veins with little care what damage he did.as demise held his final ground with hylia, the demon king had sent him away with the task of undoing whatever seals hylia would place upon demise. he had not seen as hylia sacrificed what immortality she had to seal demise in a realm of his own to pass her light into the blood of mortals.
and so his task of trying to break hylia's seal begun.

after ages of bouncing between sides, playing them both to his benefit... he's grown weary. he's tired. he wants it all to fall to peace, and he feels like the hero is the best bet, even if allied in the shadows.
the internal fight he battles, pushing away malice... well, it can overwhelm him so easily. so easily for him to be returned to the depths, the shadow of himself that follows with the blood moon, the malice, and later... when he had thought that finally he could rest and settle as best as a weapon's spirit could... the upheaval occurs.pre demon war ✦ rose tinted view; and sattelites that compromise the truth
wide eyed and eager to please. curiosity is bright in his eyes. hylia has crafted him to one day aid her hero in their fight against darkness - a likeminded being doubling as their blade.given to demise as an act of hopeful negotiation to cease his attempts on gaining the triforce for himself.in a gambit that later backfires on ghirahim, demise offers him the opportunity to gain power, offering liquid malice to him. a new substance to the world, created as a byproduct of demise's hatred long before his blood curse on the heroes of light. it sticks to his ribs, buries into his bones.malice corrupts hylia's blade in a way ghirahim can never truly recover from.
